I have always hated the old Quizno's ad that featured the stiff, googly-eyed, and dead rodents wearing hats (bowlers and some Napoleon-style contraption) and singing about how delicious the subs were at Quizno's. Really?!
I think the marketing people should have strongly reconsidered their strategy. While I had been a fan of the chain I was instantly repulsed by the newest ad (now a few years old). I loved Quizno's, the sandwiches were tasty and inexpensively priced. When asked where I wanted to eat on Friday--it was an office thing--I most likely replied "Quizno's" but after seeing the ad with the stiff rodents I could no longer eat there. I could not equate rodents with eating. The two just did not correlate.
The only thing I give the marketing staff at Quizno's credit for is being able to create a memorable ad. Repulsive, but memorable.
I invite you to view this ad that ran on TV:

Creative, yes. Nasty, too.

I remember that ad. You're so right! The marketers can congratulate themselves for creating something memorable. Too bad it's memorable in a disgusting way.
